New Fee Schedule Effective 8/01/2026:

  • The City of Pueblo has passed a resolution to adopt the fee schedule for Southern Colorado Building Department.
  • We are allowing a one month period from the approved resolution for our contractors and design professionals to prepare for the new fee schedule and get clarifications as needed.
  • Any plans or permits submitted beginning on or after August 1st will be subject to the new fee schedule. Plan reviews in process and existing permits remain on the existing schedule unless they expire.

New Code Adoption Updated Info - 8/1/2026:

  • The City of Pueblo has adopted the 2021 International Energy Code (IECC) without modifications and the Colorado Model Electric and Solar Ready Code (View our quick guide here) effective 6/30/2026
  • More information regarding the Colorado Model Electric and Solar Ready Code can be found here: Colorado building-energy-codes-toolkit
  • By the adoption of the above codes, we are not adopting the Model Low Energy and Carbon Code (MLECC) at this time
  • The phase-in period has ended and any plans or permits submitted beginning on or after August 1st are subject to the new code. Plan reviews in process and existing permits remain on the existing code unless they expire.

License Renewals 2026
License renewal for 2026 has ended. If you did not renew your license you will have to submit a new application. Please contact licensing@socobd.com for more information.

If you need to come to the office to visit with an inspector, please plan on being here between 7:30 & 8:30 in the morning or by appointment.
All registered contractors and home owner permits may put in inspection requests 24/7 on our website.
Most documents can be sent in electronically, please contact our office via phone or email permits@socobd.com for additional information. It is easy to do business without coming into our office. Most everything can be done online our through electronic means. We can also schedule a 'face to face' meeting via Zoom.
